You can manage your consent preferences at any time to accept or reject the use of various categories of cookies, which are not strictly necessary, through our Cookies Consent Management banner. If you disable cookies and similar technologies, however, some features may not work as intended.
What is a Cookie?
A cookie is a small piece of data (text file) that websites that you visit ask your browser to store on your
device (such as your computer or smartphone), in order to remember information about you, your
preferences (such as your language of choice) or your device information, when you return to it. 'Similar technologies'; falling under the generic term 'cookies'; also include local objects (sometimes called flash cookies), web beacons, pixels, browser fingerprinting technologies or any technology that stores or accesses information on the user's device. This information does not usually allow us to identify you, but it can offer you a better user experience when visiting websites (including ours).
What types of cookies do we use?
The types of cookies we use fall under two categories, strictly necessary and optional. This means that what cookies we place when you visit our websites will depend on your choices.
We use both first and third party cookies. Any cookies that are set by the website that you are visiting are called first-party cookies, whilst any cookies which are from a domain different than the domain of the website you are visiting are called third party cookies. These cookies are placed by someone other than us. An example of this is when we embed a YouTube video. A list of third party organizations and their respective cookies and processing purposes can be found and managed in our cookies consent
management page. Some cookies are deleted once you close your internet browser ('session cookies'). 'Persistent cookies' on the other hand stay on your browser for a longer period and are not deleted once you close it, so for example a website you revisit remembers your language of choice.
Strictly necessary cookies
These are cookies that are required for the operation of our website and use of its features, and therefore cannot be switched off in our systems. The information collected relates to the operation of our website (e.g. website scripting language and security tokens) and enables us to provide you with the service you have requested. You can set your browser to block or alert you about these cookies, but some parts of the site will not then work. These cookies do not store any personal data. These cookies are used solely for the purpose of carrying out or facilitating the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network; and strictly necessary to provide you with the information society service you have expressly requested (i.e. if these cookies are disabled, we will not be able to provide you with the service you have expressly requested). The use of these cookies for the purposes described above is based on our legitimate interest to ensure the proper technical functioning of, access to and use of our websites or apps and to provide you with the service(s) you have expressly requested.
These cookies are optional and are used to collect information on how visitors use our website, for example which pages they visit most often, whether they receive any error messages and how they arrived at our website. Information collected by these cookies is used only to improve the use of our website by our visitors. These cookies are sometimes placed by third party providers of web traffic and analysis services. All information these cookies collect is aggregated and therefore anonymous. If you do not allow these cookies we will not know when people have visited our site and will not be able to monitor its performance.
These cookies record your visit to our website, the pages you have visited and the links you have followed. We may use this information to make our website and the information (including marketing information) displayed on it more relevant to your interests and to measure the effectiveness of and marketing or information initiatives. These are also optional cookies. If you do not allow these cookies, you will experience less targeted advertising.
